With an appealing programme with nine speakers across Europe, the role of dietitians in Obesity Management in Primary Care was discussed on the first day of the European Congress on Obesity (ECO22). Topics included the new European Dietetic Obesity Guidelines on adults and children and the implementation of interventions into primary care. The importance of patient point of view and a holistic approach were also addressed. This European Association of the Study of Obesity (EASO) Nutrition Working Group session was organized by our EFAD specialist network, ESDN Obesity, led by Maria Hassapidou and Ellen Govers. ECO22, the joint congress on obesity of EASO and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and metabolic disorders-European Chapter took place in Maastricht the Netherlands (4-7 May). The 30th Congress is planned for 17-20 May 2023 in Dublin, Ireland.
