Stakeholders from across Europe—including patients, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and decision-makers—will unite during this year’s campaign. The objective is to raise public awareness of the critical issue of malnutrition and advocate for equal access to nutritional care for all European citizens.

Prof. Olle Ljungqvist, Chair of the European Nutrition for Health Alliance (ENHA), commented:

“Malnutrition is a crisis affecting millions across Europe. The Malnutrition Awareness Weeks aim not just to raise awareness, but to drive real action. Every citizen deserves access to the nutritional care they need to lead a healthy life, and it’s time we make that a reality.”

Malnutrition Awareness Weeks 2024 is part of ENHA’s pan-European Optimal Nutritional Care for All (ONCA) Campaign. The event is gaining widespread support from professional societies such as ESPEN (European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism) and EFAD (European Federation of the Associations of Dietitians).

EFAD marked Malnutrition Awareness Week during the first week of October, amplifying the call for equitable nutritional care across Europe and advocating for effective interventions to combat malnutrition.

Our organization is proud to support Malnutrition Awareness Weeks 2024, as we believe that every European citizen should have access to optimal nutritional care, promoting health and well-being for all.
