EFAD’s Role with Codex Alimentarius: Strengthening Dietitians’ Influence

EFAD has held observer status within Codex Alimentarius for the past four years, actively participating in developing global food standards. Through responses to consultations and collaboration with other organizations, EFAD has supported the creation of evidence-based standards that enhance food safety, security, and nutrition.

By actively participating in the EFAD Codex Committee, European dietitians contribute expert knowledge on nutrition, dietetics and public health, helping to create evidence-based standards that promote safe and nutritious food for all. This role strengthens dietitians’ influence in decision-making processes, enabling EFAD to participate in the development of policies that align with public health objectives and protect the interests of consumers across Europe and beyond
